The goddamn Trump Administration (Part 2)

Would this so called crackdown on crime address school and other mass shootings?

Nope. The deaths of children are not a priority. Mass shooters, unless they are extremely rare brown-skinned or nearly-nonexistant queer murderers and/or their victims are white and politically connected cis men, are simply exercising their 2nd amendment rights.
Only assaults against politically connected white cis men by people with brown skin or the fears of these men of being assaulted count as crime.

Hopefully he gets a good defense lawyer and gets off with a slap on the wrist.

I wonder if there’s a GoFundMe set up for this guy’s defense yet? Or maybe a nice website emphasizing his contributions to the community?

Perfectly, succinctly stated, painfully accurate summation of the entire shittery (to use a term I learned from a friend born and raised in Amarillo).

Nailed it.
No notes.

Might be worth a look. It’s been ages since I’ve seen a real organ grinder with his monkey.

I’ve noticed something in the headlines of the tabloid rags at my local grocery store: I recognize most of the celebrity names because they’re the same names I saw in these things 40 years ago at my grandmother’s house. While I’m not paranoid enough to think this is purposeful manipulation, I do think it’s part of a self-feeding cycle that appeals to a select demographic that’s inclined to go MAGA even if they don’t believe in all of what MAGA is selling. (Or I think more accurately, they aren’t aware of it and are effectively incapable of understanding what MAGA is.)

It’s the WWE like atmosphere. It’s the not very subtle racism of the celebrities shown (i.e., white, cis, and without those ā€˜weird’ names like those people). It’s, as the post from TOP says right off, a glorification of the last time many of that demographic still felt like ā€œtheyā€ were in charge, or at least people that looked like themselves were in charge.

I still find it a little painful to realize that ā€œSecret Information Found About Lady Di’s Death Ride!ā€ (I made that one up, but is based on one I saw) is very likely a kind of pablum that guides these people to supporting fascists, rather by design or by accident. You’d think the bread and circuses alone would be enough of an issue, then you start noticing that the simple morality plays within the circus acts are guiding the audience to support the authority. They’re not just a simple distraction, they’re a tool to assert control!

I don’t know. Maybe I’m reading too much into all of it, but I can’t help but see it now.

It seems like there are all kinds of legal problems with the way T**** federalized DC. There’s a pretty decent chance a DC judge wouldn’t even find probable cause for the arrest if the CBP agent was acting outside of their legal purview.

Techically something happened… they killed the reporter.

Here’s my theory:

In general if I ask my USAn friends about communism, they will reply with the URSS (obviously), Cuba, Venezuela, China… I will rarely get mentions to socialism (they don’t think socialism and communism is the same thing), democratic communism (though understandable, as seems to have gotten out of favor in the 70’s), or the many, many failed leftist goverments in south america, or specially in the ex-french colonies in africa and asia (the french goverment loved to assasinate left-wing presidents! And let’s not talk about what happened in Iran at the beginning of the 50’s!)

I don’t I think is specifically anticommunism as US citizens have grown with the idea that the only successful communism is authoritarian communism, which usually survives because it has the military support and so it cannot be easily replaced by a right-wing dictatorship. And authoritarian communism is really not much different from fascism. One would say they stem from the same spigot. Or so they say.

And obviously there’s no hurry on changing that idea.

Yep. This matches the perceptions I have at least. The US became so focused on authoritarian communism that it forgot that fascism is authoritarian. Because up until Trump’s last election literally all of the capitalist powerhouses in this country truly believed no president, however brutal against the hoi polloi, would interfere directly in the markets. Therefore they are not authoritarian in peoples’ minds. And so every other whistle and foghorn of fascism was ignored. Likewise most US people do not understand that the Nazis and other fascists were often ostentatiously religious and therefore think communist = atheist and Nazi = atheist so CHRISTIAN + Fascism = getting it RIGHT!

Now we get to watch these same folks turn around and explain why Chinese style control of the markets is really a good thing and from what I can tell all they have is ā€œwell CHRISTIANā€ without even a passing glance at the moral depravity and rot that thrives in their sick farcically hypocritical pedo cult.

No low is too low for Trump:

Besides that act?

And to be fair, it’s not ā€œwhatever their qualifications.ā€ They need very specific qualifications - specially none. No relevant knowledge, no intelligence, no creativity. Competence is disqualifying.

How does he feel about people with compromised judgment, like active alcoholics, having the right to vote revoked?

The Deep State is armed with sandwiches

ā€œThis is an example of the Deep State we have been up against for seven months as we work to refocus DOJ,ā€ she added.

:weary: The stupidity of these people. If the charges aren’t dropped and they go to trial, sub-man should ask for a jury. Perfect case for jury nullification

One might wonder why these cities are being targeted. What unifying feature might be at play? Surely there is something that would make these particular cities subject to Il Douche’s wrath. I guess we shall never know…

Here in Chicago, we’re on the second Mayor in a row to basically have a layup to be awesome and blow it, but EVERY person in Chicago will be behind Brandon (yes, amazingly, his name is Brandon and the joke writes itself) would rally behind him if Trump’s goons showed up. Brandon is pretty unpopular but much like Lori before him he’s going to easily have a cheering squad behind him giving him all the power he wants if it’s needed.

One might hope that some/all of them would refuse the honour. (Well, maybe…)

Trumpist (or MAGA or GQP) affirmative action - call it what it is.

Be careful to measure the Putin smirk. The smirkier, the more Trump has given away and the more Trump is bullshitting/lying about what was ā€˜agreed’ (I put ā€˜agreed’ in inverted commas, as it will be whatever Putin decides it is, not whatever fantasy Trump declares it to be)

Or must never be used. Loyalty is all. Competence in lying, supporting whatever Trump says, is the only usable competence.
