Honestly where else is there for Europe to take it? We live in a tariff free world so the US has unimpeded access to high value markets with its high value goods. Part of this Washington Consensus was we imposed IP law and lack of privacy laws that US tech firms want.
When unilateral tariffs were imposed why accept the rest of it?
The upside for the US is if the trade war goes to the front that the rest of the world most benefit from taking it, competition will return to the digital world.
The US will come through that fine to be honest.
