It’s definitely impacting perception of USAians in the media for me, no matter how much I don’t want it to.
When I’m listening to the UK-focussed news and a US accent pops up, I feel the subconscious, irrational part of me resenting them, no matter what is being discussed. There’s that devil on my shoulder whispering “Fucking Yanks! They’re fucking everywhere!”
And that in turn can be seen in a groundswell of social media content about US cultural hegemony.
The orange assclown and his sycophantic toadies are negatively affecting the wordwide perception of the average North American.
And possibly more importantly, they’re destroying one of the most valuable tools they have in international diplomacy, that of soft power.

They do not believe in soft power. They firmly believe you need to dominate others and impose your will. The idea of cooperation and negotiation is “woke and weak.” It’s very much a grade school way of thinking, but it is easy, and that is all they need.

US Army has no plans to celebrate Trump’s birthday on 250th anniversary
But wait – there still will be a parade…
The parade was not part of the original planning for the June 14 celebrations and was added this year, stoking criticism from Democratic lawmakers and others that Trump has hijacked the event.
Asked if there were any plans by the Army to recognize the president’s birthday, Steve Warren, an Army spokesperson, said: "I don’t think we have a plan for that.
“This has been the Army’s birthday. … We’ve had 249 previous of these,” Warren told reporters at the Pentagon. “We’re excited that the commander-in-chief is interested in the Army’s 250th anniversary and that he will want to view it.”
I bet Tramp will still claim it’s his big beautiful military parade, or review or whatever.

This is all about being at a war of supplication against Universities in general, straight out of “Project 2025” – can’t allow reality based education! Harvard is an obvious ‘beachhead’ and trump-town thinks they have to destroy Harvard’s leadership. i suspect, having seen over the shoulder somewhat smaller university’s budgets, that International students paying several times what a ‘local’ student pays that killing all International student admissions would be a very large injury to any American University’s budget. @#$!

What kills me is that conservatives love to hold Harvard up as the epitome of liberal elite higher education, like it’s this radical leftist university, and it’s just not. A ton of notable conservatives have come from Harvard, and continue to. This is all theater designed to intimidate.

That means they would waive their right to appeal their termination except in particular cases like racial discrimination.

Yeah, I figure at this point everyone has to know exactly what Trump is, and they’re simply not going to interact with him at all unless they need something specific, and are coming into it with an informed strategy as to how to manipulate him into giving it to them. Getting what they want may be a bit of a long shot, but there’s no way the leadership of other countries possess the kind of Trumpian levels of ineptitude which would leave them unprepared for their interactions with Trump.
I think this might be a case where Trump’s ego allows him (and others) to engage in plausible deniability, because he recognizes (after White House staff have drilled it into his head) that spending tens of millions of dollars on a parade for his birthday is a bad look, but celebrating [coincidentally occurring official event] is fine. So he’s willing to publicly claim he’s celebrating the army (but his ego also insists that it’s his army). Though I think you’re right in that he’ll also talk about it as “his big beautiful military parade.”
