Timely find:
At first I was thinking that perhaps she was making the statement to point out that she operated in good faith and Trump didnāt, that he wasnāt to be trusted, but it doesnāt quite work.
She went to some effort and compromised herself to put herself in the position, and if it was just to make this point, why? Everyone already knows Trump breaks his promises - Democrats get pissed that she consorted with Trump in the first place and Republicans simply donāt care. Itās lose/lose. The smart thing is to not put yourself in a position where Trump is even making you promises, because youāve compromised yourself for something worthless.
She certainly acted like it.
Yeah, youāre likely right on that. So frustrating.
Perhaps⦠but in politics, motions must be gone through for the sake of appearances and to achieve the will of the constituents and address concerns, which, for politicians, can mean eating shit from time to time. Sure, on live TV she could have told Trump to drop dead and to the glee of 60% of the country⦠but what would that have practically achieved for her stateās citizens?
Meanwhile, they donāt give a hoot about citizens who are harmed by any Real Americans.
His feelings must have been hurt again.
I read some articles about this, itās not entirely clear under what authority he can fire her because the national portrait gallery is part of the Smithsonian, but here we are.

Hereās an excerpt from that Steven Miller interview on CNN I mentioned above.
No Steve, the judicial system does not need to green light every presidential action, just the ones that are unconstitutional or illegal.
He also said habeas corpus shouldnāt be involved with immigration issues. He said the president has sole authority to deport people in this country illegally especially if they commit illegal acts.
Heās missing the point, sure go ahead and deport after youāve proven in a court of law that the person committed a crime.
Without due process they can start disappearing anyone with no repercussions.
Thatās the scary part they donāt care about.
And he still doesnāt understand 3 equal branches of government.
āThe president is the sole head of the executive branch. Heās the only officer in the entire government thatās elected by the entire American people.ā
āDemocracy cannot function - in fact, democracy does not exist at all - if each action the president takes, foreign policy, diplomatic, military, national security, has to be individually approved by 700 district court judges? Thatās democracy?ā
āSo if thereās 15 communist crazy judges on the court, that each of them as a team working together can block and freeze each and every executive action.ā
I submit that he does, in fact, care very much about the abnegation of Due Process.
Indeed, thatās the whole point.
Again: he understands, because heās deliberately working to undermine and destroy that system and replace it with the Unitary Executive model. You know: like an absolute monarchy, or a totalitarian dictatorship.
Like half of Trumpās ukazes?
Cool or not.
It is my great honor to raise the Tariffs on steel and aluminum from 25% to 50%, effective Wednesday, June 4th. Our steel and aluminum industries are coming back like never before. This will be yet another BIG jolt of great news for our wonderful steel and aluminum workers. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!
And, America first is giving billions to a foreign company?
Trump also said that $14bn would be invested into the areaās steel production through a partnership between US Steel and Japanās Nippon Steel. Details on the partnership are still unclear, though Trump has been touting the deal.
Wait, thereās more.
āThere will be no layoffs and no outsourcing whatsoever, and every US steel worker will soon receive a well deserved $5,000 bonus,ā Trump told the crowd, filled with steelworkers, to raucous applause.
Warning: do not watch while drinking a hot beverage.
I wonder what the āvaccine chipā conspiracy theorists will make of that.
The California State Senate has invited two former top CBS figures to testify in a new inquiry into whether the networkās parent company has violated state laws against bribery and unfair competition.
Good.
