They forgot to put “temporary” in quotes.
Yes, a lot of them talk about not being paid as much as they could make elsewhere. They do have really good benefits and more job security than most.

Wow. That is unreal. I hope she lawyers up and good.
Until a few days ago, of course.
They used to have that security. The security is one of the reasons jobs in the federal government are attractive to qualified people. That security is gone now. One more thing destroyed by this illegal bullshit.
I’m glad the federal workers are pushing back and you brought that to my attention. It does give me hope
Ah yes, another press conference.
They’re saying great things, and thanks for posting it, but damn, I wish more was happening! Arrests, somehow? Elected officials chaining themselves to locked federal department doors, maybe?
Yeah, me too…
Historically attempts at territorial expansion is a fairly common thing among aging authoritarians who are trying to secure their legacy. Scary stuff.
See also; Putin.
Politico has never been known as a left-wing media outlet, has it?
It’s to the left of Breitbart and the Daily Stormer, so left-wing to the current administration.
The cynic in me is wondering how much of this is performative; are they merely posturing for their constituents so they can say they “fought” this regime so they can get re-elected? And the deep cynic in me is wondering if it’s all kayfabe, and they are on the take, and will get something out of this. There are some significant exceptions to this possibility; Crockett, AOC, etc., but I wonder about some of the others.
And who’s going to enforce that? Will DOGE pay any attention, or just keep on doing what they’re doing? I guess we’ll find out pretty quickly.
Not quite sure where to put this, but here’s a way Dems can gain back the house:
I’m in Florida. I’m going to turn out to vote.
I get regular newsletters from Michigan because I’m a registered business in the state.
This came today and it made me happy. I hope Bondi doesn’t issue an arrest warrant.
Dear Friend,
As we start February, Lieutenant Governor Garlin Gilchrist and I are honored to issue a proclamation recognizing February as Black History Month. This month, let’s reflect on the rich history, resilience, and contributions of Black Americans who moved our state and nation forward. Let’s also acknowledge the ongoing fight for justice, equality, and opportunity for all. I’m proud of the work we’ve done since I took office to close gaps and create opportunities for everyone, and I look forward to more good work in 2025.
From the labor strikes led by Black workers in Detroit to the courageous activists of the civil rights movement, Michigan has always been a beacon of progress. Today, we build on this legacy, with Black Michiganders at the forefront of leading our state to a more equitable future. Leaders such as Lieutenant Governor Garlin Gilchrist; Kyra Harris Bolden, the first Black woman to serve as a Justice on the Michigan Supreme Court; and Senator Sarah Anthony, the first Black woman to be Chair of the Senate Appropriations Committee have led with vision, courage, and a deep commitment to justice and equality.
We still have a lot of good work to do to ensure every Michigander can achieve their American dream, and I look forward to working together to move our state forward. As we celebrate Black History Month, let us also be inspired to continue to push for progress. Together, let’s continue to build a more equitable and representative Michigan where every person has a path to opportunity.
someone told museum staff to cover up the plaques for fear of what would happen if they didn’t. Indeed, one of the plaques contains the words diversity, equality and inclusion.
Pfeiffer says it’s a sign of the climate of fear right now in the nation’s capital as the Trump administration targets federal agencies such as USAID and the Department of Education.
They’re an intelligence agency. They could do something about it…
