The goddamn Trump Administration

Oh my God, that is a hard read. I hate this so fucking much, fucking ghouls profiting from human suffering.

I see the US is going door to door begging for eggs.

Finland said nope, and now we’re asking Lithuania.

Why on earth would America first be begging for stuff from other countries.

I’ve heard we don’t need stuff, America has everything it needs.

Weird.

This is the reason these sorts of services should never be farmed out to the private sector.
I hate that the people in control can’t / won’t see this, and that they are so morally bankrupt, even if they did learn of it, they wouldn’t care.

Trouble is, the US is so focussed on business, capital and winner vs. loser, that I don’t even think getting rid of Trump and anyone that supports him would make a dent.

At the earliest stages of education, it seems you lot are taught to worship the flag and celebrate the individual over the community, and that winning is more important than anything else.
The rot sets in early.

Still, that doesn’t stop me hoping for another Luigi moment.

Sorry if this comes across badly; it’s just the US is doing a really good impression of the bad guy on the international stage at the moment.

Radio 4’s Today show was highlighting the problems tariffs are causing our steel industry at the moment, but I couldn’t help that think that ultimately, it’s probably a good thing.

With the US government and industry seemingly laser-focussed on reducing costs to maximise shareholder profits at the moment, I wouldn’t be surprised if you start manufacturing really poor quality steel, resulting in the cascade of structural safety issues such short-sightedness causes.

I mean, he flat out lies and no one calls him on it. Why not continue? At best you hear someone say he’s saying something “inaccurate”.

Really tired of major media carrying his water.

Well someone’s gotta be responsible for his colostomy bag.

Please note: the above is probably innaccurate, but the joke was right there.

This is what the two of them discussed. Bread and circuses.

I suspect Putin is a much better chess player and trump is just stupid.

Hopefully our intelligence agencies are loyal to the safety of the country and ignore him.

As I try to make sense of what is happening with this administration, I am finding that the people who are knowledgeable of fascism are the most useful to me.

This video in the Wired Tech Support series was great at breaking out some elements of fascism. In some cases, she directly points to how the Trump administration is becoming fascist; in other cases, she discusses historical or current world leaders and you can draw the parallels.

Yeah, I think so… and it’s probably because they themselves are miserable, and so they want to see others suffer, too. And they think it gives them an advantage that they can use to dominate others. It’s (once again) the logic of bullies. They believe misery is the plight of humans, so everyone must be miserable. There is probably a religious angle to that, as well, that we must suffer for our sins, until we die and hopefully get into heaven.

They might even ban formula, and demand all babies be breastfed, ignoring the fact that not all babies CAN be breastfed for a myriad of reasons.

Yep. And they also have a form of learned helplessness there. Like, we can no longer DO things in America - like have a successful and viable space program, which is run by experts employed by the government, because gubmit BAD, but PRIVATE SECTOR GOOD!, so now we hand that shit over to people who make the most sci-fi adjacent noise and let them do it… If we’d had this mindset in the 50s, we’d not only never gotten to the moon, but we’d be speaking Russian now!

Oh it’s not a mere impression.
