They are accomplishing the opposite - isolating the US, with many trading “partners” making deals with China to replace goods that had previously been purchased from the US. All while every country in the world is making permanent changes to remove dependency on the USD.
Even if everything were fixed tomorrow, those are permanent changes that will not return.

I have no doubt he could pardon anybody involved in this. But the other question I have is who would enforce a contempt order, and against whom?
The DOJ will just throw up their hands in exasperation and say that they simply are powerless to do anything at all. Courts including SCOTUS can yell all they want, but what can they actually do other if nobody will enforce the laws? The Republican majority in Congress clearly likes what’s going on right now and won’t do anything at all to stand in the way.

With them basically completely nerfing the constitution and the courts only 3 months in, I am amazed that anyone thinks like that… they are not gonna give up power because of an election, if they even allow it to happen.
It depends what you mean by mistake. If you mean that it’s not going to work because Trump will either just ignore it or issue pardons, you’re probably right. But it’s the only tool the court has to compel the administration to act.
I’m sure such contempt convictions are pardonable. The President’s pardon power is basically unlimited, when it comes to federal crimes. The only open question is can he pardon himself.
