Tuesday’s much-reported “fork in the road” email memos came from this unsecured server, which unintentionally revealed the involvement of two non-government individuals, both heavily involved in Project 2025.
I hadn’t heard about that tidbit yet. Or if I did it was drowned out by other junk.
So how many class action lawsuits does it take before we reach peak government efficiency?
Rumors are local Republicans are panicked over this screwing of their constituents. Nothing but chaos meddling in local water management from the White House. If they had gone forward with the plan it would have flooded local towns and fields while draining water needed this summer. For a stunt!
President Donald Trump plans to put in place 25% tariffs on imports from Canada and Mexico and 10% tariffs on goods from China.
WASHINGTON (AP) — President Donald Trump will put in place 25% tariffs on imports from Canada and Mexico and 10% tariffs on goods from China effective on Saturday, the White House said, but it provided no word on whether there would be any exemptions to the measures that could result in swift price increases to U.S. consumers.
Trump had been threatening the tariffs to ensure greater cooperation from the countries on stopping illegal immigration and the smuggling of chemicals used for fentanyl, but he has also pledged to use tariffs to boost domestic manufacturing and raise revenues for the federal government.
“Starting tomorrow, those tariffs will be in place,” White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt told reporters. “These are promises made and promises kept by the president.”
and the stock market just nose dived in response. ah well done you idiot. will money-bags be coming along to chivvy/bribe him into backing off? tune in tomorrow… same moronic channel… etc @#$!!
(does China get a 15% smaller tariff package because musk/tesla? [shrug])
I saw part of this morning’s press briefing and one of the questions that was asked (I think it was Doocey) was whether or not the air traffic controller working that night “was a DEI hire”. Just short of outright asking, “so was it a white guy or not?”.
That was after a podcaster given a front-row seat in the briefing room used this once in a lifetime opportunity to ask if the press secretary thought the mainstream media was being unfair to Trump based on yesterday’s Trump presser. Good grief.
As an aside, how is nobody bringing up that allowing podcasters (sorry, “new media”) to get a seat in the White House press briefing room – something that is historically dominated by corporate media – IS LITERALLY DEI??
Oh, no! Mediocre white people who are used skating by on their privilege are that someone who would previously be overlooked might be better than them at their job?
Worst fucking timeline indeed.
Meanwhile they still won’t stop talking about Hillary’s fucking e-mail server.
Friends who listen to to a lot more NPR than I do have noted a definite rightward turn since Turnip got elected, in terms of who they have on, in what they interpreted as an attempt to curry favor with the new administration. Guess it didn’t help them any. If the federal money goes away, it would certainly remove the incentive to do that.
A number of things are unclear from the article, but I suspect it’s all unrelated to anything Trump was talking about, and took place afterwards. The article came out yesterday, and it seems like the “Thursday” they’re mentioning was also yesterday, which makes sense, as we’re expecting some flooding with the rain now sweeping through Northern California. I suspect the timing is all about that, as there’s often some panicked, last-minute dumping of reservoir water when heavy rainfall is predicted (as no one wants to dump water from reservoirs that won’t be refilled, nor do they want the reservoirs to risk overflowing). I would not be at all surprised if the current chaos in various federal agencies contributed to some bad decision making around this, though…
