At least in 2025 Q3 and Q4, when reservoirs are empty and crops are wilting, we’ll be able to buy imported produce at only a 500% markup because of supply constraints and retaliatory tariffs.

I hear you and sorry for my comment.
I’m not a nervous flyer, but I hate what this asshole is doing right now. My husband will have a lot of flying September through January for his job, and this is why I’m furious.
I’m sure you’ll be fine tomorrow. It’s still statistically safer than driving.

Yup, also 30+ hours of driving time to get from San Diego to home… not appealing at all.
Tangentially related, I did avoid renting a car in San Diego until today when I picked Kiddo up from camp. The transit system worked well for me, got me where I wanted to go.

I recently was referred to a new business coaching client who is a Federal employee. Elon’s Fork in the Road memo has really shaken her and all her colleagues.
I joined this subreddit for Federal employees because I think it’s a big business opportunity to help these people start up their own businesses and I want to learn more about what’s happening.

Yeah - it serves absolutely no purpose. No one can make use of this, it’s just wasted water.
And the farmers will be screaming bloody murder, putting pressure on Trump to demand water magically appear from nowhere, ultimately resulting in the existing water being pointlessly diverted, rivers running dry and Trump imposing punishments on California for not conforming to his fantasy.

Businessmen don’t appear to know how anything works, including business, and especially not economics.
No government institution should be run like a business, nor should hospitals and healthcare.
