Me too, but I’m afraid lots of people with privilege are too expectant of the system to save us…
Yeah, but then, what else will, short of revolution (which at least at the moment seems unlikely)? Even the protests already going on are demands that the system get its shit together and do what it’s supposed to do.
I honestly don’t know… It’s hard to know how bad this actually is…
Welp, I hope my sister is gonna pony up for my mom, cause SHE voted for this shit. We sure as shit didn’t. But hey… my sister is a Christian, so I’m sure she’ll swoop in and honor our mother by making sure mom doesn’t starve while supporting her cancer-ridden husband.
I wonder how many students will not be able to afford to take classes in the fall at Perimeter… We’re going to be gutted.
I just spent a few hours downloading what I can still find on the National labs’ websites, before it’s all gone. I was coordinating with colleagues in the energy sector and we saw things disappearing/no longer showing up as we were working.
These are tons of resources, images, guides, trainings and, to me, most importantly, datasets that help inform policy decisions. Which we as taxpayers paid for. And now so many links go to either 404 pages or to the “new and improved” Dept. of Energy site which is short on substance but bold about “energy dominance.”
It’s just shocking to me how depraved and demented these people are. Everything they are doing isn’t to do anything other than hurt others and enrich themselves — and they are downright proud of this. So much so that every day they try to find new ways to shove what they are doing in your face just so you don’t forget.
I’m probably the only person here who has visited the national archives in order to do some research. This is a fucking nightmare.
I seem to remember one crisis some time ago (but forget where and when) where a lot of those problems were solved by flooding the area with emergency food aid (rice, I think) to the extent that there simply was no point for the local crooks/guerillas/army/whatever in stealing any of it and channeling it into black markets because there wouldn’t be any profit margin left for them.
Seems like a reasonable approach, at least for some situations.
came to post this…it’s very good.
