That’s amazing, that a very simple, 30 second explanation of tariffs is beyond the attention span and cognitive ability of Trump at this point. We knew he was bad, but this seems significantly worse than what we were hearing in his last term (with the dumbed-down presentations he was given that were only bullet points with his name in them). His supporters won’t get it because Trump, yet again projecting, asks the question like other people won’t have understood it (even though it doesn’t make sense to even ask the question unless you thought it was tricky).
TLDR: raise the debt ceiling by $4 trillion , cut $2 trillion from medicaid.
I suspect it’s more that they just don’t care. If it’s government spending and Mosk/Tramp says it is, then by golly, it is.

Insanity. Among many other things, the promise of a payout that pays salary through September would be promising future funds that have not yet been appropriated by Congress. That one issue alone should prevent the executive branch from being able to do this.
