The goddamn Trump Administration

America’s Golden Age?

Why don’t they just call it “The Fourth Reich?”

Will Tramp’s stacked SCOTUS bow to him, letting him do whatever he likes? Will Bessent vs Dellinger go down in history? Is this going to be the Rubicon Moment?

Trump Asks Supreme Court to Let Him Fire US Agency Head

Justices asked to step in on emergency basis, person says

Trump seeking to remove head of US whistleblower agency

Under the Supreme Court’s normal procedures, Trump’s filing will go to Chief Justice John Roberts, who can either act on his own or refer the matter to the full court. Dellinger declined to comment on the filing.

In issuing the temporary restraining order on Wednesday, US District Judge Amy Berman Jackson said the firing “plainly” went against US law. The administration didn’t provide any reason, even though federal law says the person in that position could only be removed “for inefficiency, neglect of duty, or malfeasance in office,” the judge said.

“This language expresses Congress’s clear intent to ensure the independence of the special counsel and insulate his work from being buffeted by the winds of political change,” Jackson wrote.

Trump has sought to transform the federal government since he took office last month, citing government efficiency as reason to dramatically cut the workforce, close agencies, slash spending and remove senior officials. His actions have drawn dozens of lawsuits challenging the moves as unconstitutional and unlawful executive power grabs.

Dellinger was nominated by former President Joe Biden to lead the special counsel office and was confirmed by the US Senate in February 2024 for a five-year term. He is among several independent agency officials who are suing Trump over his push to oust them.

From what I’ve read, no one could verify the story and the apparent source removed the claim. I’m not sure what that means, though - it could be that the claim was untrue, that it was a (fictional) warning about what was going to happen, or it was entirely true and the story got taken down when higher ups starting shitting themselves when they found out, given how serious it is. (And if it’s the latter, we can look forward, in 2055, to the US government sheepishly admitting that it lost a nuclear bomb core or two thirty years previously, but it’s all fine now…)

Yeah, since Trump got elected, I’ve been expecting a sudden reduction of intelligence flowing from the other Five Eyes countries to the US. (An overt expulsion would be too confrontational.) Now with the disarray in the federal government, security breaches and installations of neo-Nazis into key posts, it’s even more obvious that any information they give to the US at this point is guaranteed to land in enemy hands, so why would they risk it?

Yeah, the information isn’t safe in either direction…

And she’s just one of countless security threats in the current administration. You’ve got Trump himself, of course, eager to share classified information with the Russians (and whoever else), as he did in the first administration, all his fascist staff, Hegseth and his staff, various ideological hires down to the ground level (neo-Nazis and foreign agents being hired to replace “woke” CIA/FBI/etc staff), and even Doge getting access to various classified information, copying it and storing it insecurely. Security is a total shitshow from top to bottom.

It’s official - June 14th is now America’s Guy Fawkes Night!

I have to imagine Trump’s repeated use of the phrase “Golden Age” is a tribute to Luis Buñuel.

Imagination is a wonderful thing. Trump has none. And he’s certainly never heard of Buñuel nor would he have any idea what to make of any of the man’s work if he saw it. He wouldn’t even be able to read the fucking subtitles.

When I worked for a state, not federal, agency, I could literally garnish by just sending a letter. I didn’t have to do a court case. This was on puts on asbestos clothing student loan payment enforcement. I issued dozens of new garnishments every week. Yes, I know you hate me. It was my job. And I would only garnish if I absolutely had to. I would literally take $1 a month as payment if they would send it and flag the account as paying.

Gotta say it’s super weird to watch experts, analysts and media struggle to comprehend and respond to a regime headed by terminally online people.

The only people who get what’s going on and respond with due speed and tone are the terminally online people who hate the new regime.

Is Doge looking into the wasteful spending of taking victory laps in his limo at Daytona or doing a flyover with Air Force One?

Is any of the media covering this?

Huh. June 14th is the Saturday night of our kinky camping event. We always have a huge bon fire that night. Coincidence? I think not!

(We’re going with planning on the stubborn assumption that will will have our very queer camp!)
