WAT? Honestly, it strikes me that only “billionaires” would want to abolish the FDIC.
I’m getting super skeptical about “the world’s richest person” right about now. Perhaps that’s why the a-hole doesn’t own a house?
Yeah, do that. The stability of the entire US banking system relies on the FDIC. Without it, the US — and world — would be plunged into a depression, like the one in the 1920s.
Oh, and no, the investor class won’t come out of it unscathed.
Truly, these people are unbelievably stupid.
People in the financial industries are extremely short-sighted. I cannot stress that enough. If ending the FIDC will raise the DOW for a few weeks, that will be enough. Trump is a business failure, and yet who rang the opening bell of the NYSE today?
Ok, but imagine the entire world financial system collapsed, but you had your fortune in the form of ape jpg receipts or some other blockchain collectibles like that. Oh, you think that would only make things much worse? I do too, but I bet you Musk doesn’t.
Or they could invest in postal reply coupons, buy them in countries where they are cheap, and trade them in in countries where they are more expensive.
Main source is an article in Automotive News whose paywall apparently can’t be tricked by creating an archive link.
It seems like the automotive stuff in Project 2025 is as muddled as the rest of it, from trying to satisfy movement conservatives and industrialists at the same time.
Also, let’s ban toilet paper too. I mean, why not?
I don’t think I could possibly get mad enough about that proposal. It’s bad enough these people want to revoke the civil rights of many of us, but revoking approval of the polio vaccine? This isn’t even run of the mill right wing evil, this would be actively directly harming millions of people, possibly more world-wide. What argument does one possibly make to even start to justify this?
Fucking slimy grotesque slime-dripping sulfur-smelling ghouls.
Trump to discuss ending childhood vaccination programs with RFK Jr.
U.S. President-elect Donald Trump in an interview published on Thursday said he will be talking to Robert F. Kennedy Jr., his nominee to run the Department of Health and Human Services, about ending childhood vaccination programs.
When asked if he would sign off if Kennedy decided to end childhood vaccinations programs, Trump told Time magazine, “we’re going to have a big discussion. The autism rate is at a level that nobody ever believed possible. If you look at things that are happening, there’s something causing it.”
Sure, many children will die, but that’s a small price to pay if there’s any chance (however discredited) that a minority of them might end up…slightly different from other people. Obviously any good parent would rather their child slowly suffocate in agony than that.
I am very disappointed that Trump did not die of Covid-19 when he was one of the only humans who actually deserved it.
Exactly… the whole drive to make everyone in a society conform to some arbitrary standard of “normal” is enraging and maddening… How do people keep buying into this mindset, I’ll never know. I don’t know that it’s ever made real sense to me, but some people seem to spend their entire lives in fear of being confronted with any kind of difference. It’s just must be an awful way to live one’s life, but they are making that choice to be that way…
Watch quietly add “Proof of Vaccination” to the entry requirements for 's.
Retirement cannot come soon enough. I dealt with HIB meningitis with enough frequency in the late 80’s/early 90’s to never, ever want to see it again. I have seen babies die of pertussis. I have seen (in Haiti) the consequences of polio. Dealt with a mumps outbreak, dealt with a Hep A outbreak. Never have I seen measles, rubella, tetanus, but I guess there is still time.
