Lockheed Martin is going to love this.
I hope that $1 million was worth it.
The BBC World Service did a feature on Fentanyl smuggling from Mexico. On the US side of the border, they spoke to a recovering addict about Trump’s war on drugs. The interviewer pointed out that Trump failed last time.
The recovering addict was an older guy. He spoke in a forceful whisper:
”This time it’s going to be different. Trump is a powerful businessman. He has balls.”
What horrible event is going to have to happen to wake up 50% of this country?
You know how the Doomsday cults are always saying that the end is imminent, and then it doesn’t happen, and then they say “We’re going to be right this time!”, and they are wrong again and again and again? That’s the TrumpCult; “This time he’ll get it right!”
And for that matter, whatever percentage are Democrats?
By the way, this is what you are up against, Canada. The zeal of ignorance.

This is conservatism writ large: racist white men can do no wrong, honest black men can do no right.
Look at First Felon: he built his political career on birtherism. Always promising a smoking gun and delivering nothing.
Just how are these things: “Everyone is welcome here,” and, “In this room, everyone is welcome, important, accepted, respected, encouraged, valued” supposed to be discriminatory‽
War is Peace
Freedom is Slavery
Ignorance is Strength
DEI is Racism
Inclusion is Discrimination

North Korea, technically.
Still only an Armistice Agreement that calls for a “ceasefire and armistice” and has the “objective of establishing an armistice which will ensure a complete cessation of hostilities and of all acts of armed force in Korea until a final peaceful settlement is achieved.”
Not that a kill switch isn’t possible, but with a system as complex as this all you need to do is withhold a small handful of spare parts to render it entirely unusable.
Edit: Two bonus words at no extra cost!
Stealing that.
Pithily sums them up.
These words discriminate agains those who want to be bigoted, of course. (No. Not /s)
Yeah but the UK failed in that one because the US told the UK in no uncertain terms to cease and desist (in part by clearly saying the US would offer no material support), so a rather different set of circumstances, unfortunately. The UK had rather assumed that the US would wade in to support them.
(It was a not unreasonable assumption back then. How times have changed.)
Explained in detail:
It was, under the circumstances.
It also failed because the USSR threatened the UK, in no uncertain terms, with a nuclear attack.
(Which they didn’t have the resources to carry out, but it was enough for Eden to soil his underpants, so it worked as intended.)
