You know what, you’re right. I’m not going to argue the point, because you’re obviously right that women have to fight so much more abuse and skepticism online.
I’m increasingly of the opinion that all social media needs to be burned down (figuratively)
Ug. I was just tuning in to some of the Senate intelligence hearing where they were asking Tulsi Gabbard (DNI) and John Ratcliffe (CIA director) some very basic questions about that conversation on Signal, and they were both insisting that none of the information in that chat was classified and that it was all totally cool that they were sharing operational details of an impending military attack with a journalist and who knows who else. Madness.
Edit to add:
Although they insist it wasn’t classified they’re still refusing a Senator’s request to release a copy of the full unredacted conversation and won’t comment on whether Goldberg could do that himself without facing legal consequences.
I have indeed noticed everyone writing about this mentioning that using Signal was insecure, wrong and illegal, but none I read or heard have further claimed that the very reason they’re doing so is to prevent an electronic trail, and that the reasoning behind that is to avoid subpoenas.
Maybe I really am somehow overlooking how everyone else who’s written and spoken about this news story has also made that claim?
So, we can add “glitch” and “serious” to the growing list of terms we all suspect he doesn’t understand? Cue his minions repeating that shit on a loop in 3…2…1…
Not at all. It was much less problematic than storing highly classified documents in your bathroom accessible to all, so clearly of no consequence. IOKIYAR after all. I guarantee he will not retire “But her emails.”
Wow, it’s such a faceplant! (Not to mention heinous, horrendous, illegal, something to get fired and prosecuted for, etc.)
And yet, the GOP in general seems likely to get up and brush it off, unhindered in their March (Toward) Madness. I guess Tramp has taught them that trick very well.
Maybe they need to start submitting subpoenas for their phones, because we now know they shouldn’t be using their phone for “state secrets” but are doing so anyway.
