Hegseth’s Leak Would Have Warned the Enemy. The White House Is Using Semantics to Obscure That.

War plan or battle plan? Classified or not? The answers to those questions amount to a distinction without much of a difference.

“ A Venmo account under the name “Michael Waltz,” carrying a profile photo of the national security adviser and connected to accounts bearing the names of people closely associated with him, was left open to the public until Wednesday afternoon. A WIRED analysis shows that the account revealed the names of hundreds of Waltz’s personal and professional associates, including journalists, military officers, lobbyists, and others—information a foreign intelligence service or other actors could exploit for any number of ends, experts say.”

This is a good sign but he probably cheated.

Why would anyone have people like Brian Kilmede in a Venmo friends list.

What reason could he be exchanging money with media personalities?

Are you saying that’s what Republicans would say?

(It seems certain that’s what at least Tramp would say.)

However stupid they are and however much they are fucking up… it’s still a coup, and it’s happening. Until some judges haul some of these people to court…

And who would call Brian Kilmede a friend?

Yeah, of course it’s still happening.

And maybe even that won’t stop it. There’s a LOT of worry in the US about just how far the WH will go in refusing court orders, and who would or could fix such a “constitutional crisis.”

That said, your response also suggests that calling it a Stupid Coup is beside the point? Or maybe pointless?

Something to recall about Solnit is that she’s a sort of doyenne of hope. I think there is hope expressed in that label, hope that what will make the wheels of this reckless clown car fall off is the clowns’ own incompetence. And hey, they really are showing their asses right now! Maybe this snafu will be the contretemps that snowballs into their downfall. Or at least slows their roll a lot.

Apoorva Mandavilli, reporter for The New York Times , focusing on science and global health, discusses the government’s approach to Bird Flu, and why veterinary scientists say that RFK Jr.'s approach (letting the infection burn through flocks to identify birds with high immunity) will likely cost more than it helps.

Diseased birds can be just as tasty as roadkill.

I was on my way here to post this. These clowns are destroying the US intelligence operations and military preparedness. When an attack comes, theyll stand there with tears in their eyes and say, thank gawd, Trumpy is in charge. :face_with_symbols_over_mouth:
