Yeah. I think the various deportations are serving different purposes, the asylum seekers being deported to Salvadorean prisons being performative cruelty, and the disappearing of students also having the purpose that I mentioned up above, normalizing disappearing “thoughtcriminals” - including, eventually, American ones.
