If only everyone had this kind of response. This is heroic of her, but it shouldn’t be, this should be the default for every halfway decent human without exception- just having some degree of courage, dignity, principles and a point where they refuse to be pushed any further. I still don’t understand how the majority of Americans lack any of these qualities. Maybe not every person can afford to fight back in every circumstance and that’s understandable, but the amount of cowardice and apathy on display is still sickening.

It is (I mean, we already know that “DEI” means “non-(cis het white male)” based on any number of other acts of censorship and cancellation of research where literally the only issue is that someone other than a cis het white male was involved). Although to make things worse, apparently the word “equity” appeared somewhere in the grant description.
