The goddamn Trump Administration

Marge weighed in.

She wants Americans to replace low wage immigrants in her construction business, the only problem with that is are American companies willing to pay Americans a living wage?

I wonder what the employees make in Marge’s construction company.

Good gracious, I came out of Christmas bliss to see arguments about American labor vs H1-B imported labor and MAGA split over this issue.

Good, that means everyone is engaged in saving this country.

Here is some tough reality for some of you:

There are some big MAGA voices with large social media platforms throwing down their opinions yet they have never run a company that relies on thousands of skilled/highly trained workers with a constant need for reliable labor yet they claim authority over the subject matter.

When you spend years trying to constantly hire/train/maintain a good reliable workforce, which is a 24/7 never ending cycle, your real world experience will produce an opinion based on reality and all of your followers on X don’t translate to this.

Having owned a construction company for decades (yes I’m that old), I know firsthand our workforce issues.

However, I fully believe we must make the hard and necessary changes here in the U.S. to educate, build, and facilitate a solid foundation of knowledgeable, highly skilled, talented, well paid, AMERICAN workers.

Not having this is like having a crumbling foundation in our house and currently we are importing foreigners to hold up the foundation walls and plug the leaks.

Too many of our young people, are killing their bodies and minds on alcohol and drugs, wasting years and money earning useless college degrees, chasing unrealistic dreams, spending all their time trying to be the next you tuber/content creator/social media influencer instead of pursuing a useful skill set/trade/education in order to become a part of our much needed American workforce.

If you fall in this category, put down the selfie light, and go apply for a job and replace the H1-B visa holders and all the other skilled labor jobs that foreign workers are taking and American companies are desperately trying to hire.

It’s called building a career, you work your way up.

In order to go forward we must change our education system, create a culture that respects hard work and productivity, cut government waste/spending/regulations in order to produce a healthy robust economy that lowers inflation and pays higher wages to an American workforce, so that H1-B is no longer needed and can be done away with.

Decades of America LAST bad decisions in Washington wove a giant web of America LAST policies that created systems and structures that must be torn down and rebuilt to put America FIRST.

This requires everyone’s help to change it and we will all have to do what it takes to get it done.

It won’t be easy and it won’t be as quick as we like, but we can do it TOGETHER and the results will MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN but EVEN BETTER THAN BEFORE!!!

Uh ohs, she’s trying to get daddy involved. I wonder how long before her daddy makes a statement about this.

I have been more loyal to President Trump and his agenda than ANYONE.

And I have only been punished for it.

Pay attention MAGA.

This is how you will all be treated now that Big Tech has infiltrated MAGA.

“President Musk” is starting to look real.

He doesn’t want me to FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT for your policies,
@realDonaldTrump
. I’m simply fighting for what you yourself said you wanted.

I don’t get why this is so controversial.

Free speech is an illusion.

gormless feckless hapless musing: observing the musk vs maga (H-1B robberbaron visas vs pure xenophobia), seeing trump back musk, and thinks: oh so close, middle/lower class magas… oh so close to realizing that the republicans represent only the rich (white males) and not you. they only need your votes in a few critical locations or they’d ignore you completely, soooo close just one and a half more neurons… but no. @#$!!

Musk calls MAGAs “contemptible fools” - says they must be “removed”, “root and stem”

Fascism should more properly be called corporatism because it is the merger of state and corporate power” — Benito Mussolini

MAGAs were ecstatic when Elon Musk went all in on the cult. When the world’s richest man used his money and his mouth to back Trump, the low-net-worth, low-information voters felt validated. Their thinking was obvious: “He’s a smart guy — and he’s one of us.”

Sadly, reality bites.

The electoral high is long gone. The holidays are ending. The goals of the next administration are coming into focus. And the base is discovering what smarter people already knew. All politicians lie some of the time. Republican politicians lie all the time

MAGA goes under the Bus, Trump sides with Elon on H1B Visas. Oops.

Good for Greenland, and I hope they continue to tell Trump to pound sand, but I’m morbidly curious to know if there is a hypothetical price that they’d find difficult to say no to.

Greenland only has a population of about 56,000 people. That means that if you offered each and every citizen of Greenland $10M to give up their land (or stay put but give up their sovereignty) that would be about $560B. That sounds like a lot but it would only be about 8% of our annual budget, or roughly 1/4 the lifetime cost of the F-35 fighter jet program.

Of course the math is different if you have to pay off the people of Denmark as well.

President-elect Donald Trump’s chief of staff Susie Wiles sent a message Sunday ordering nominees to refrain from any posting on social media as Senate confirmation hearings are scheduled to start next week.
“While this instruction has been delivered previously, I am reiterating that no member of the incoming administration or Transition speaks for the United States or the President-elect himself,” Wiles wrote in a memo obtained by The Post.
“Accordingly, all intended nominees should refrain from any public social media posts without prior approval of the incoming White House counsel1),” she said in the Dec. 29 missive.

1) Currently David Warrington. Who got swapped in to replace Bill McGinley who now is supposed to council DOGE.

I also wouldn’t be surprised by either Truth Social being reclassified from being a social media outlet to something like official mouthpiece of POTUS or Elon ‘totally not a fascist’ Musk buying Truth Social for, say $50 BN, to prevent just that.

He’s really got a lot going on.

And Kevin O’leary, really?

What’s with these rich guys that just want more money? He’s worth a few hundred million, go away and stop screwing around with the common folk.

It’s like Pinky and the Brain, they all want to take over the world.

How can this get any stupider? I don’t want to find out.

Especially since he’s always the guy on Shark Tank that refuses to invest in companies unless they take production out of the country where it’s cheaper.

He’s also angry at China for screwing him over on some deal. What’s he doing investing in China when it’s America or Canada first.

These America first people really don’t mean it.

The H1-B snakefight pleases me greatly, even if greedpigs like Musk ultimately win. What did the bigoted MAGAt yahoos expect? That a money-obsessed narcissist would value a bunch of nobodies reliant on skin and gender privilege over a handful of celebrity billionaires? That techbro oligarchs ever intended to give uneducated American suckers high-paying jerbs? I sincerely hope that the Know-Nothings continue to experience a sense of betrayal and various forms of misery as a result of their vote for their grifting avatar of ignorance, hate and brain-dead entitlement

endless musk exudations:

his new Xitter icon is pepe-the-frog in gladiator garb. pepe-the-frog (for anyone nearly so clueless as moi) is now solidly associated with white supremacy.

musk is now (apparently) using a pseudonym on Xitter to compliment himself: “Adrian Dittman”. We’ll all recall fondly how trump did/does that using the name “John Barron”.

Can there be any surprise? musk is an overt security risk to the U.S. he’ll tell the Chinese anything he overhears to plus-up his business interests there. he’s a full on clumsy Chinese spy, says U.S. (ret) lieutenant general Russel L. Honoré in today’s NYT (linky maybe try scrolling down a bit)

Happy new year to all of us! will we survive it or will the republic be dashed to bits upon the obvious ragged rocks below?? only time will tell [looks at cheap casio]

I’m amused by the story of Don jr complaining about New Years at Mar a Lago because of all the unsolicited advice, particularly this bit:

“This’ll be like year, like nine of, ‘Hey, you know, have you ever thought to maybe have your dad not tweet that?’” he griped. “I’m like, no, I’ve never thought that 'cause I’m a freaking imbecile.”

He’s saying that only an imbecile wouldn’t see a problem with the things his father tweets (and he’s getting annoyed with people treating him like one). Since his father clearly doesn’t see a problem with the things he tweets, that means Junior must think he’s an imbecile.

Ugh. I was checking for something to post on how 2025 is a square number, which I think is really neat, except it turns out it being 45² is a Trump meme now. You know, because he was the 45th president and now…he is again or something. You can’t enjoy anything these days. :unamused:

He has been full on MAGA for a while now. Every time I’ve seen him on CNN he’s spewing right wing talking points and sucking up to Trump.

It would be sort of fun to see the fallout if his dad were smart enough to understand the implications here.
