I’m honestly kind of surprised that the supreme court judges didn’t realize until now that if the president can act without judicial oversight, there’s no reason for anyone to bribe them.
The GOP is absolutely obsessed with people that don’t identify exactly as they want. These students have to represent a fraction of a percentage of students and they through all their power, hate, and money at trying to make them go away.

It seems like it should be so blindingly obvious that I have no idea how to explain to people that Trump isn’t making an omelette, he’s just smashing eggs. So frustrating.
There’s a difference between carefully cracking open eggs to get their content (while discarding shells), whisking the eggs and then cooking them in a layer such that they’re not over- or under- cooked, versus, say, taking all the egg cartons off a shelf and throwing them on the ground and stepping on them. Which is (metaphorically) what Trump is doing. (Though given his temper, he might have actually done that as well…)
“Stepping on eggs doesn’t mean you’ll get an omelette” does seem like a better counter-saying.
It’s certainly possible (this is a concentration camp after all, and there’s a lot of ways people can die in this system), but I also don’t think it’s necessary as an explanation for why they won’t return him. The Trump administration didn’t really send the guy there “by mistake” (all asylum seekers are fair game to this administration*; he just fell outside their current criteria), and they really don’t want anyone exiting the system - so if someone does, it makes it obvious that it’s possible.
*And they’ve made it clear that the criteria for being sent to the concentration camp are going to go far beyond asylum seekers or even non-citizens. They’re working their way up to it, shifting the Overton window.
I keep having to triple check whether the source is the Onion (or its ilk) or not.
I am pretty sure reality is a simulation written by the very same guys who gave us The Onion, “Naked Gun” and “Looney Tunes”.
