The goddamn Trump Administration

So they are authorizing TFG to enter negotiations with the stipulation that he can spend $1 and has to report back in 6 months with his plan? It kind of sounds like they are sending him to his room to play with his crayons.

We’ll sell it for $2 trillion- and Donald’s head on a platter.

Deal?

“I think he was speaking aspirationally,” Senate Armed Services Committee Chair Roger Wicker (R-Miss.) said recently about Trump’s ambitions of taking control of the Panama Canal and Greenland.

What the hell does that even mean, Roger?

Have we talked already about Canada Green leader Elizabeth May owning trump with the hard truth?

Although there’s a small bright spot in the article …

the idea of the U.S. taking control of the Panama Canal — as well as acquiring Greenland — is facing skepticism from other Capitol Hill Republicans.

Okay, so that’s good, right? They’re starting to recognize that this guy’s way past his best by date and shouldn’t be in charge of a bathtub, let alone the USA, right?

Ah. No, of course not. How silly of me. Sanewashing it is, I guess.

As the completely unofficial, wholly self-appointed, entirely invalid representative of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, I hereby endorse this plan and embrace my new Canadian overlords. If it helps my status at all, I make my own maple syrup and was once a fair defender on the ice. I also think cheese and gravy on fries is just sound judgment.

Ghomeshi had a nice little thing of being outed as a serial sexual harasser and as completely despising his fans who might normally try to excuse him, so I don’t think he’s much loved these days.

Yeah, I read about that. I still enjoy the band’s music from the short time they were recording, but he’s definitely the fly in the soup for it. I’ll enjoy the music because of the rest of the bad; he can go into a hole and never be heard from again.

Shows so well what he thinks of the rest of us. Peasants, serfs, peons-- if he even knows those words.

It’s chess, he’s a genius playing chess.

Biden banned drilling in the Gulf of Mexico, not The Gulf of America.

Genius.

And, hilariously, it was specifically in response to the state’s drought, the lack of rainfall. Oh yeah, let’s spend untold millions and the accompanying environmental destruction to build reservoirs for all the rainfall we’re not getting. Makes sense. Also, it completely ignores all the water which comes from the Colorado river, which is also impacted by drought. Also also that our ground water is heavily depleted, and the capacity there is many, many (many) times what we could ever get from surface reservoirs. So they didn’t just want to build structures to capture the rain we aren’t getting, but ignoring that they’d be totally superfluous even if they ever did get used.

You know, I think even more than the cruelty, the abject stupidity of Trumpism is what’s going to do my head in. You can’t argue with or fix the cruelty - sadists, bigots and psychopaths are going to be what they are and you can’t change it, but when people are operating entirely within an extremely lazy and very obvious set of falsehoods, it’s incredibly enraging and frustrating. Because they could be educated as to the basic facts, the cultural conservation could be based on the reality… but it doesn’t happen.
