From what I can tell, many Christians are still longing for the end of the world. Whether it be the rapture or the second coming — some still see their next life as the real thing, and their time spent on Earth as nothing more than a test.
I would love to see how the new ERS agents do when they show up in Beijing and ask to see all their receipts.
I do worry about a defense secretary whose only qualification is that he is completely beholden to Trump. I do believe it is more dangerous.
Right? We’ve had plenty of bad SecDefs who were hawkish and got us into unnecessary and/or illegal conflicts. But they certainly had some minimum level of qualification to even manage an Applebee’s.
From what little I was able to tolerate of today’s sham confirmation hearings, Hegsegth’s priorities are:
- Our military isn’t focused enough on killing
- Anything that prevents our military from exercising their blood lust is bad
- Trump is one of the top CEOs of all time and picked him, and that’s all the qualification he needs
- I’m just here to do whatever Trump wants me to do
- Something about “experimental vaccines”

Convicted of several crimes in Brazil, Mr Bolsonaro had to hand over his passport to the authorities and can no longer leave the country. He insists he was officially invited to President Trump’s inauguration ceremony, but he had no documents, invitations or anything to prove his claims.

let’see… if musk bought tiktok that would certainly ruin it for the (non-fascist non-incel) young-uns (who would all head off to even more Chinese RedNote), it would distract some magas in that they couldn’t blame tiktok for anything they wanted while providing further proof that musk is a clear security risk, and allow musk to post dance videos of himself …win-win?

Chinese officials have reportedly discussed selling TikTok’s US operations to Elon Musk as the threat of a US ban looms.
Sources “familiar with the matter” told Bloomberg that Chinese officials would “strongly prefer” that ByteDance remain in control of TikTok US, but if TikTok’s bid to get the Supreme Court to block the ban fails, ByteDance wants to be prepared with “contingency plans.”
One of those supposed contingency plans would apparently see Musk operating TikTok as part of X (formerly Twitter) operations. Under that scenario, Musk’s X would control TikTok US, sources said, and thus gain access to a massive trove of TikTok data that the US has alleged poses a grave national security risk if left under a Chinese-owned company’s control.

“The opening round of the second term is not going well with the public,” said Lee Miringoff, director of the Marist Institute for Public Opinion, which conducted the survey of 1,387 adults. “Americans are not convinced of Trump’s agenda pillars, including pardons and tariffs. Mass deportations are only getting mixed reviews.”
