New Marist poll: Trump starts with a net-negative favorability rating, 44% favorable, 49% unfavorable. This destroys the idea Trump has a mandate. Wish Democratic leaders would see these polls and realize Trump is not popular. Stop talking common ground and start fighting!

I just spoke to Chairman Xi Jinping of China. The call was a very good one for both China and the U.S.A. It is my expectation that we will solve many problems together, and starting immediately. It’s nuts to me that the argument against TikTok is essentially that China could use it as a platform for propaganda and disinformation, in the event of some sort of conflict. When we already have Twitter taken over by an overt fascist in thrall to governments hostile to the US and other dictators, and he’s already using it to disseminate propaganda and disinformation. And somehow he’s preferred as an owner of Tiktok?

That’s assuming the respondents voted, though. With voter turnout around 63%, it’s not necessarily the case. Still infuriating when people that oppose Trump don’t vote against him, but that’s why Dems need to focus on policies that will impact real voters, not worry so much about the status quo or upsetting big donors and corporate interests, and fight every instance of voter suppression.

If a massive bomb attack wipes out everyone then Pelosi and company will step in to run the country under the Continuation of Government emergency measures. Yeah, it’s not necessarily the case, but suggests that dynamic. But, as you say, even if it is entirely explained by people who always had a bad opinion of him but couldn’t be bothered to vote, that’s enraging as well.
