Mask up to trigger MAGA assholes (and for health)
Philadelphia – Today, the Board of the Liberty City LGBTQ Democratic Club released the following statement regarding President Donald Trump’s Executive Orders targeting LGBTQ Americans:
President Trump begins his Presidency by seeking to actively harm Transgender and LGBTQ Americans and their families with his newly signed Executive Orders. Instead of helping Americans who are struggling to make ends meet, he is choosing to divide and undermine nondiscrimination protections.
His executive orders will make it harder for LGBTQ Americans to find and maintain employment, provide for their families, better themselves through educational advancement, and continue to contribute to their communities. The President has a sacred duty to protect Americans traveling abroad. But by denying American citizens passports that match their appearance, he paints targets on the backs of transgender and gender-nonconforming Americans.

President Trump further moves to target incarcerated transgender people, particularly transgender women, by preventing access to necessary medical care. Furthermore, seeking to house federally incarcerated transgender women with men, President Trump all but ensures they will be sexually assaulted ongoing for the duration of their sentences.
Liberty City is committed to holding President Trump accountable and working with our local elected officials to step up to protect Transgender Americans, our LGBTQ community, and their families. We stand with our transgender family, friends, and neighbors. We are one country and one people, and we all deserve better.
Me neither. I admit I’m drawn to it due to its British meaning.
That’s what makes it extra cool; whether he knew it or not, King isn’t throwing up the “peace” sign…
The cruelty is the point, I know.
Weak tea reporting
Yes.
And.
It’s a roundup. A first-approximation.
I used to write for newspapers. I can’t imagine what it’s like now, with whatever readership that yet remains having the attention span of a fruit fly.
Hey - I have the attention span of a 60 y.o. woman with MDD, GAD, ADHD, SPD/H, and M.O.U.S.E - so there! (and an AAS in Speech Communication Arts - Mass Media, Macomb Community College class of 2013 that seems to’ve been no use to me, so I know how ya feel.)
“Don’t forget to tip your president!!!”
This caught my eye, our daughter also graduated from Macomb.
That is all.
You know if he really, really wants to take us back, he’ll have to:
Ban electricity and *all devices that are powered by it.
Only natural gas and steam to make things run.
Ban all motor vehicles, regardless of power source.
Bring back the horse trading and smithy industries.
Bring back and enforce laws that prohibit men from swearing in front of women and children. in public note: that law was still in existence in MI as of 2002, when Gov. Snyder got rid of it, and other archaic laws).
Break up the monopolies (temporarily, of course) so there are only a few chains of major retail stores, and all others must be made into “mom-and-pop” independent stores.
Ban all zippers.
No more plastic anything, as it hasn’t been invented yet, nor has bakelite.
In fact, just about every technical advance the human race has made since…oooh, just after the Civil War, maybe? Of course, women wouldn’t have voting rights, but why would they even want to, what with men taking over that headache!
I thought the “Gulf of America” thing was a joke. The only Gulf of America is the one between Trump and sanity.
Yep. Though of course (and not that I think you don’t know this), he doesn’t really want to take us back, no more that he’s actually Christian, or actually hateful of trans people (who he instead doesn’t give a shit about, as with the rest of the 99.9%).
Seems to me that his nostalgia message is just that, a message, an emotion -stirring appeal to voters, and like pretty much the rest of his slogans and talking points, also a divide and conquer strategy, as well as a diversion from what he’s really interested in (now that staying out of prison no longer motivates him)-- getting far more wealthy, and helping out other billionaires who can help with that status and power building effort.
