Or you can start a tally and make bets. You know, if they don’t heed to the warnings, maybe they will pay attention to the scorn.
here’s the report from MCSO on what has turned out to be a remarkably quiet “mini season” here in the Keys:
A bevy of boats with bug catchers took to the Florida Keys waters for the two-day lobster mini-season last week. Overall, no major resource cases were reported by the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office.
Most people were in compliance and the number of vessel stops, notice-to-appear in court citations, and arrest figures were normal/typical compared to recent years. There were 526 resource checks, 16 court citations and no physical arrests by deputies who were out patrolling the waters and nearshore areas. These numbers do not include data from other law enforcement agencies, including Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, the Florida Highway Patrol, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and the U.S. Coast Guard.
there are a number of factors that could have been at play here. the fact that mini season (the two-day “preseason” free-for-all that was confined to Monroe County), was expanded to Miami-Dade and Broward counties; the unprecedented heat on the water, driving the bugs deeper, and the fact that regular season was only a week away (6 August) may have been part of a lower than previous turnout.
how higher prices for everything played into this has not been included, but i find worth a deeper look.
i still call for an end to spiny lobster mini season.
These two statements are directly contradictory

Should have used a camera (though elephants have better memory).
Those little movies show there were tens of tourons milling about.
Though I suppose it could lead to the same result if the person gets too close, it seems like a lot of these incidents could be avoided by just taking a regular photo of an animal instead of taking a photo of yourself, with the animal as mere set dressing.
A witness told first responders that the hiker picked up the snake, which is believed to be a Timber rattlesnake, and was bitten on the hand, Griffith noted.
PSA: Do not annoy animals that can, and will, kill you. It should be common sense, but that has becaome increasingly uncommon.
Just don’t fuck with the wildlife, leave them alone. I assume any random animal does not appreciate my presence.
I go outside everyday and say hello to the 3-4 adult lizards sunbathing on our cinderblock wall as well as the two baby lizards in our garden (one inch-long baby lacks a tail .) But I make sure to stay about 20 feet from them. And five feet from the squizzles.
