The Trans Experience

And a slightly more saucy iteration; showing a little leg:

The bones extending down on to the boots are chef’s kiss.

ETA: I have a question actually… would you have felt comfortable posting those on the old place?

I’m with @politeruin ; the bones stockings are the detail that takes it to the next level.

The gloves are awesome, too. I’ve got to get me a pair of those!

:astonished: slaying in that outfit! I love the shoes :fire: and the bone stockings!

I miss giphy. It made using gifs easy on my phone. You’ll just have to imagine it

OMG I love that!

I usually go as a witch, because I am one and I just love going as a witch generally and have since I was a kid (there were no signs).

Unfortunately I was taken out of commission yesterday by a health issue and wasn’t able to get out and properly celebrate last night

I… honestly don’t know. Possibly.

Sadness! Here’s hoping you feel better soon!

@ everyone else: Thank you all!

Being able to finally smile again after I transitioned was amazing.

The trans experience is being terrified of elections.

We lost here in Saskatchewan last month, and I’m worried the conservative Sask Party will start restricting trans healthcare like the UCP is proposing in Alberta. And now the internet is going nuts with the US election, and I can’t vote in that one, but the cons here tend to follow the lead of the GOP.

I’m scared. For my trans friends in the us, for the women facing loss of rights, for the continuing march of fascism the US far right is exporting around the world…

It’s time for an internet break for this girl. I hope the US electorate does the right thing. See you on the flip side.

Take care, we’ll see you soon. :crossed_fingers:

Well I’m failing pretty hard at staying off the internet today, but then again, digital self-harm is also part of the trans experience. I mean, my first trans community was found on Twitter, so… :woman_shrugging:

Mine was on Geocities. I’m old.

I was very deep in the closet at that point, I avoided engaging with anything queer because some part of me knew that would risk my shell of denial. I figured out I was trans in the 80s but stuffed it down until it could no longer be contained in 2021.

And I’m not going back
Into rags or in the hole
And our bruises are coming
But we will never fold

I wish I felt as strong as those lyrics. But I don’t today.
