Thinking about history

Stalin wanted an USSR with at least the same territory the Russian Empire had before WW I/the revolution/the civil war/Versailles. Ask Poland, the Baltic states, Ukraine, a couple of -stans…

You’re both right.

That’s what astonishes me still about the anti-trans manufactured panic: the script is the same as the anti-gay manufactured panic, with a search/replace for “gay” to “trans”.

Yeah, it’s exactly the same.

And yet, some cis queer people appear to believe that if they throw trans folks under the bus, the right-wingers won’t somehow turn on them in an instant.

And that is the part that just baffles me. It is so obvious to everyone that the fascists are not friends to the LGB community, any more than to the T part. It’s a strategy to divide and conquer, and taking the smallest and least powerful component first only makes good sense. Anyone in the gay community who supports the fascists is supporting their own death warrent.

Interesting framing, but it reminds me of washerwomen in the US, matchgirls in England, and even earlier organized walkouts.

I love telling the story of the Atlanta washerwoman’s strike in class…
