While the plane sat on the tarmac of Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, another passenger became “frustrated” at the diversion and punched the bathroom door, according to the airport. The second individual was deplaned for “unruly behavior” and the flight resumed to Houston, landing about four hours after its scheduled arrival time.

As of May 18, there have been 597 reports of unruly passengers in 2025 to the Federal Aviation Administration.

That’s fucking alarming!

And sadly, an improvement over last year. That was 915 by June 9.

So posting the video without permission is part of what he’s officially being punished for? Weird.

Huh. Never would have expected that the record would have been from Australia. I would have thought that updrafts that severe would be more common around tall mountain ranges, and Australia is more limited in those. TIL.

Not weird in China.

It sounds like he’s being punished for both making a procedural error that could’ve had serious consequences, and for being irresponsible (in the eyes of the authorities) about how information about the incident disseminated. Both of those are no-nos in China.
