Court documents show that Roley had a tumultuous family life growing up. His mother filed for divorce in September 2015, when her son was 10 years old, and wrote in court documents that her husband had threatened her, pushed her to the ground, and “punched several holes in the walls.”
“He threatened to sit outside my house with a sniper rifle or burn my house down,” she wrote.
A judge granted a protective order preventing Roley’s father from having contact with his wife or son, but later amended the order to remove the son after his father wrote in a court filing that “I am not a danger to my son or anyone else” and that his wife “did not tell the truth in her statement.”
The divorce was granted in November 2015, and Roley’s mother was designated as his “primary residential parent.”

He also caused enough “trouble with a girl” to get expelled, was obsessed with guns, and was known to be living out of his car for some time.
“a poor troubled young man slipping through the cracks,” of course. And the thing is it’s not untrue. Obviously this guy seems to have lots of teachable moments but only learned the wrong things. The thing is with these kinds of serious antisocial types the “cracks” they slip through aren’t fuzzy and warm because they usually look like serious longstanding legal consequences.
If conservatives wanted to save the lives of firefighters with minimal suffering for angry white boys with shitty lives they’d support social network supplements, vast armies of social workers, and free housing. They’d preach about it like Jesus would have.

You know,. take out that being part of divorce proceedings and add “shot holes in the house from inside” and “broke wife’s leg by throwing her off of back porch” (including a cover up by about 20 people that were at the party) and you could be describing my childhood. Yet somehow I managed to go on to live my life without joining the Nazis or shooting at firefighters.

Dieter claimed Roley was someone who talked about Nazism, who was “very pro-gun,” who spoke of wanting to join the military, who would often make drawings of bombs and military vehicles and who allegedly got in trouble once for drawing swastikas in a textbook.
But, of course,
Police in Idaho have publicly stated that they believe Roley acted alone and that they don’t believe the attack on firefighters had any connection to terrorism.
