Transphobic events

What’s particularly stupid about the trans athlete nonsense is that you can substitute in [tall, fast, strong, agile] for “trans” in that statement and it’s even more true. If they aren’t complaining about athletes who were “born tall,” “born fast,” “born strong,” or “born agile,” then you know it’s worse than bullshit.

It’s also a tactical lie. If every trans athlete suddenly disappeared- they would still be going after trans people and our rights to exist.

Also, while it’s true men do have a very slightly higher mean of height and physical strength, by the time you get to concerns about AMAB dominating chess it’s pretty clearly contemptuous of the idea that women are ever equal. All these people use women’s sports the same way one might talk about competing against children. Surprise, bigots don’t stop at hating one group!

Also (this is a “yes, and”), they keep going on about trans children. If you let transgirls (because they don’t care about transboys in this context) get the puberty blockers they ask for when they ask for them, then they don’t get those masculine advantages by definition.

The (deliberate) failure to treat in a timely fashion is the cause of the “problem” they profess to be so concerned about (even though, as has been fully pointed out, it’s not a problem, and they’re not actually concerned about it).

You don’t want the tiny number of transgirls to have an unfair advantage in sports? (Ignoring for the moment that they basically don’t.) Then give them the treatment they need when they need it.

But that would be both compassionate and logically consistent. We can’t have that…

Potter stuff to raise money for Trevor Project. Wonder if they could get any more tone deaf.

I can’t believe we have got to this point, but we may need our own kindertransport.

Truth. Those “cowboys” all had starched dress shirts, pressed jeans, new looking hats, and none of them had a speck of dirt on them. I suspect if you looked at their hands, they’d be soft as a baby’s bottom. Those guys may be ranchers, but they’re not cowboys. That’d be like calling Henry Ford a factory worker.

Yep. One of my biggest fears. Which is why I specified in my will that any tombstone or monument will have my current legal name on it. And why I’m going to be cremated. And why I named an executor who is not my parents. I love them, and we have a much improved relationship, but I do not trust them with this.

All people should have a will, and you can put funeral instructions in a will, but you can also have written funeral directives as a separate document, and these are legally enforceable in many states.

Landowners. That’s the word.

Whenever any salt of the earth farmers are paraded in the media they are actually just landowners. The only kind of people who really count.

According to one author of a book I bought in the recent Nonbinary Peoples’ Day bundle, the shadowban has included books with the “transgender”, “LGBTQ” and “queer” tags. The author recommended downloading all purchases immediately in case it changes from delisting to deletion.

I’ve already been reading comments from customers and creators that content (including purchased material in user’s “bins”) has been disappearing. Additionally, they’re withholding payment to creators for content sold before itch.io engaged in anticipatory compliance.

I’m planning to make sure I’ve downloaded everything I’ve purchased, contacting a few creators I follow to see where I can follow them elsewhere, and closing my account there.

I just doublechecked my downloads against the list I was sent in email, and nothing is missing.

What I want to know is, why do these payment processors bother to listen to a small group of TERFs and homophobes? It’s not like people can boycott all of them without it being a huge pain in the ass and basically just dropping out of the economy almost entirely.

Because they are using the tired old saw of “won’t someone think of the children”, mostly. the inital complaint looks legit enough- the game that Collective Shout was using as a scapegoat may have those themes in it, but they are going for a much wider scope with sex workers, and a fairly large portion of the lgbtqia community does that as the only way they can earn a living for whatever reason.

the ACLU is looking to fight it, if enough people ask them to:
