This may be a foretaste of the next general election in England. multiple parties with roughly similar levels of support will produce lots of tiny wins like this, making the overall result highly unpredictable, and even more unrepresentative than it usually is.
EDIT-
To further illustrat this- I’ve stuck the latest polling figures into a swingometer, and the result is utterly chaotic- You need at least a three-party coalition to get any sort of majority, and if you change any of those percentages just a bit, the result changes wildly.

Highly unlikely three party coalitions as well. Keir Starmer won’t do coalitions, SNP hate Labour and hate Reform UK even more, and the Lib Dems have been criticising the three top parties for their transphobia.
A very weak Reform/Tory minority government coalition won’t achieve much, unless Labour continues on it’s journey to the far-right.
Britain is fucked, the country is in terminal decline.

Reform UK split the conservative vote here, allowing the LibDems to take control of Oxfordshire County Council.
Yes, the LibDems are tory-lite, but at least they aren’t transphobes. This matters when you live a life in the bottom tiers of Maslow’s hierarchy of needs.
Labour won in my ward, but that was going to be a shitshow regardless. Labour are marginally better than Reform UK, I guess.
