“We fixed a technical issue that caused incorrect translations from Burmese to English on Facebook,” said Andy Stone, a spokesman for Facebook. “This should not have happened and we are taking steps to ensure it doesn’t happen again.”

His name appeared as “Mr Shithole” in Facebook posts shared on the official accounts of Ms Suu Kyi and her office.

Not at all. President-for-life Xi Jinping Is as much a fascist as the Donald, but more effective and more aggressive. “Mr. Shithole” is accurate.

This person is horrible. But, what this made me think about is any follower of hers that miscarries after reading about this, my god… if they believe her drivel, will they be slammed with guilt? I mean, lots of pregnancies end in miscarriage, which can be devastating but it’s a terrifyingly normal turn of events.

I dearly hope that there are no mourning people out there, wondering if their pregnancy was “satanic” on top of everything else. What a mindfuck. I hope I’m overthinking this.

they’ll feel no guilt about anything that happens to “evil liburals!”. They are “Christians” so that makes it okay

So maybe 2018 counts as the first election in a while where actual relative positive morality was not the automatic loser… and you think your strategic thinking is going to be able to ignore the independents and R-defections. Given the poll numbers for Sanders among independents?

The choice of Tim Kaine, the strategic inside choice, designed to be Clinton’s Cheney… you don’t remember that? And the fact that no one knew Kaine’s name outside the VERY rarified circles where people have no idea of what they don’t know? “No inkling” is the phrase that comes to mind. Cheney was the dripping black heart of this pre-Classical war-profiteering-cult. You think Clinton couldn’t have won if the warpigs weren’t on board with slumlord Rump rather than “nobody likes them anymore” Clinton? Nobody? Who do you think actually votes? Come to US, actual voters, if you can no longer get the VC capital for your little “president” venture.

In the past four years we’ve watched the complete mind melting of the pundit class as they refuse to acknowledge the blatant fascism they enabled with their consistent capitulation.

Twitter in particular had been an amazing tooltip make people lose their minds. I’ve seen it in real time as some authors have completely lost any mental filter and just… buckled.

At this point I wonder if it wouldn’t be for the best for the US to just split up. The last 4 years have shown that the divide between those that want to live in the past and those that want to move forward is too much.

It’s not a geographical distinction, no matter how hard they try to sell you that line. The result would be like the partition of India: perpetual low-grade civil war at best.

Hughes was well-known for his belief that the Earth was flat. He hoped to prove his theory by going to space.

He was trying to reach the awesome altitude of 5,000 feet.
