I was unimpressed by the burning video. Imagine if the actor had learned his lines, the stream was in a higher resolution than 720p, and the lighter actually worked. Imagine if there was a bit more theatricality to the whole thing, instead of a slapped dashed performance in the middle of a pandemic to cash in on the latest trend.
agreed, on all counts. but i think the lack of presentational flair adds weight to their act, in a way. and he clearly is not an actor, but someone who fully believes in that cause. but yeah, i was yelling at the screen “GET A BLOWTORCH, for crying out loud!” lol
It was more of a rhetorical question. I can just see some yahoo selling the “first” digital copy of a master tape as a kind of special thing that costs a lot more.
“Oh, boy, I’ve got the copy where the bits are the most accurate!”
I can just see record companies degrading the quality of later copies on purpose, just to get the best price for the first . . .
Normally, it’s bad form to defend ones behavior as only one step removed from crime. One should have higher ethical standards.
But in a criminal court, that strategy works.
We shall see.
Reminds me of Agrippa (A Book of the Dead) - Wikipedia and K Foundation Burn a Million Quid - Wikipedia
Unless the enemy has studied his Agrippa…which I have.
I believe he’s earned himself another title: Manbaby.
In the cryptocurrency communities and entrepreneur communities, he is worshipped by dude bros. I had a client who was VERY into Elon Musk. I found it odd; his business was totally different and I don’t see a lot about a rich person becoming richer that inspires. I think people like that he seems to enjoy his money as one imagines rich people should do, rather than using it to ingratiate himself to the powerful.
And of course July 21, 1996, when The Daily Show started, was way before Limbaugh’s national television show that ran from 1992 to 1996.
And, of course, Crossfire (and similar shows). With Crossfire starting in 1978.
On October 15, 2004, Jon Stewart, then host of The Daily Show , appeared on the program to promote his book America (The Book): A Citizen’s Guide to Democracy Inaction . He used his appearance on the show to raise criticisms of the format of Crossfire and the style of arguments presented on the show. He said the program failed its responsibility to the public discourse and indulged in partisan hackery, reducing news coverage of important issues to a series of talking points from both extremes of the political spectrum: “It’s hurting America. Here is what I wanted to tell you guys: Stop. You have a responsibility to the public discourse, and you fail miserably.”
And let us not forget, the Republican Party has not been “conservative” for quite a while. Being narrow-minded and sadistic does not make you conservative.
And of course conservatives would never hate liberals because it’s cool.
My late mom’s birthday! She was turned 70 years old that day!
But she never watched the show, lol. I don’t even know if she knew it existed.
