I’ve seen a couple of articles now and they all seem to be leaving some things out. They make it sound like just a high school field trip gone awry.
But to a war zone? And these high schoolers had military service visas? And didn’t even think of going to the embassy when the withdrawal was announced, let alone to the airport where 70,000+ other people went?
Maybe they had the bad luck to be off somewhere that was among the first places recaptured or something. But the articles don’t mention that. Or why the kids had military service visas. It’s curious.

They went back, likely before the troops left, so they could say hello or goodbye one more time. What wouldn’t you do to go see your family one more time, let alone know you have only a window of time to go see them?”
