I posted 3 stories about this in the voter suppression thread. The local NPR station actually talked to one of their reporters while she was standing inline to vote in the Old Fourth Ward neighborhood, which is one of the largest precincts in the city.

I voted early Friday, and the line was longish, we waited a total of just over 2 hours, but everything went smoothly. The line was longer when we left after 6 or so. We had 6 voting machines and the poll workers were all younger, which is usually not the case.
