As with so much else: the GOP base are going to go into the election thinking that the Dems are police abolitionists, no matter how much bootlicking Biden does.
So that bootlicking doesn’t actually gain the Dems any support; all it does is drive away abolitionists.
See also Medicare for All, Abolish ICE, etc etc.
