There are some things I like and admire Xeni for… but not political takes like this.
I don’t doubt that the stonks debacle is complex, with many, many players and some parties colluding with each other (Robinhood and Citadel in particular.) But I don’t believe this had anything to do with Biden, or his opponents. I think it’s less political and more Late Stage Capitalism.

I had to get an MRI on my neck today.
There are only seven Medicare-eligible MRI scanners in Tasmania, and I didn’t want to take the risk of waiting.
So I went to a private for-profit one instead. And I needed a contrast dye injection, which adds to the cost.
It was horrendously expensive; just over $200.
