It’s not about balancing the budget, it’s not about “we can’t afford it”. The US state is already paying more for shitty unaffordable healthcare than others pay for universal free healthcare.
It’s about (a) funnelling money to the plutocracy via their health insurance parasites, and (b) retaining medical bankruptcy / denial of healthcare as a weapon to use against the working class.
