Yeah, I have zero problems with someone deciding not to be drafted into the Vietnam War.

My problem with him dodging that draft is that, if he really were a conscientious objector, he should have faced the consequences of his civil disobedience.

Instead, he used his family’s wealth to obtain a diagnosis of “bone spurs” and got himself out of the war without doing a damn thing to end the war itself.

Does not parse!

In WW2, both PTSD and MTBI were diagnosed as Combat Fatigue. In WW1, as Shell Shock. I think one of my grandparents had severe combat fatigue.

Note the focus on physical wounds. That sounds like an excuse to ignore less obvious physical wounds such as MTBI and GWS and to ignore psychological wounds such as PTSD.
