As always: yes, the people of Hong Kong have legitimate grievances. Yes, the Chinese government is highly problematic.
Nevertheless, the Hong Kong protesters are (a) cultivated, promoted and supported by the US state, for reasons that have fuck all to do with “democracy” or “freedom”, and (b) not accurately portrayed in Western media.
