The existence of “veterans parking spots” is a severely fucked up and abnormal thing.
I’m not sure if y’all are aware of just how over-the-top American militarism has become. It isn’t just a bit messed up, it’s a long, long way over the border into Verhoeven’s Starship Troopers territory.

I get what you are saying, but the people you are quoting are attacking the US under Obama for the period when they respected Honduras sovereignty only for the far right government to wait out Obama and fake the election results under Trump who they know wouldn’t give a damn. They are also blaming Obama (and Clinton) for Bush II era military support and training requested by the leftist Zelaya who was the one the far-right stacked Supreme Court forced out of the country that currently faked the election results that the political left in Honduras wants back in power. Things are messy and many of the problems are rooted in US’s defense and judicial industries, but the political left is being lazy. As someone wanting nonviolent political left grassroots revolution, it will never happen when people making money in progressive journalism continue to use the same bogeymen that get angry people to go to their websites. And at this point, the dawn of 2018, it is becoming clear that many US media outlets with already known bias are doing it for something besides ideology.

Too early to be sure of anything about the underlying protests, but there’s definitely a vigorous PR effort happening from the US and other governments to spin the Iranian protests into a cassus belli.

It looks like relatively small protests (so far), motivated primarily by legitimate economic issues, which are being stomped by the government while being hyped by outside forces.
