Now here’s a chewy debating point…
On the one hand: there is a fair point that Black people should not be expected to do any more than White people are. There’s also a good argument that all of this shit is primarily the responsibility of White people.
OTOH…yeesh.
It’s the way it comes across to me, when you make an asymmetrical comparison between two institutions while making a statement about the institutions workers implies to me that he’s making the same comparison about both since they are a part of the same thought. Having been away from it and coming back I see that’s not really what he meant, but quickly reading my brain filled in too many blanks he left out there.
Not to mention that y’all are Asian down there according to this. Such bizarre wording when “the US is losing influence with Pacific partners” isn’t exactly hard to say. Looking at the author, it has to be an editorial board choice trying to sloppily evoke Trump and losing into the headline. I don’t see anything like this with a quick look at his recent work.
