It’s pretty interesting showing that the working poor in the US have a similar life expectancy as Sudan, and that more than any other factor social class determines health outcomes (not suprising, just good to see data on it).

OTOH, Disco spends much of his time arguing with centrist Dems, where the “economic anxiety = racist dogwhistle” argument is routinely deployed by middle-class white liberals to try and paint the Berniecrats as racist.

The major examples of institutional racism from the Enlightenment period were formed and executed by commercial interests. As far as I can remember from my “ignorant” perspective. Ideological racism divorced from thievery requires a lot of coincidental racist thievery to make people really try to make it work, philosophically and scientifically.
It was Romantic colonialism that went full racist, followed by Futurist/Fascist movements, all focused on executing fairly low-tech plans of commercial domination, plug-and-play capital enterprises that needed extra justification from their amoral fellow travelers.
