The final minute sums it up nicely.

The behaviour from the other side is also not suggestive of a US-Russian alliance.

A Pelosi-controlled Congress would be certain to “reform” ICE.

In other words, push it all back out of sight while normalising and consolidating the ideology that created the problem.

Right now in the United States, there are more politicians under the age of 35 I want to be president than people over 35.

This is extremely important: the economy is doing extremely well.

The booming economy is the exact proof that the wealthy elite are actively fucking over everyone below them. Denying that the economy isn’t strong is just idiocy, and feeds into the message the elites themselves deliver. It was literally Trump’s economic platform that the economy is secretly shitty and that’s why we need to give more money to elites and increase border security, because the elites don’t want people to know how great things are for them.

The sentiment displayed in the linked tweet is aimed at a more fundamental critique: what do we mean by “the economy”? Is it just a set of numbers detached from human wellbeing, or is it something that is measured by its impact on people?

Nobody [1] is denying that the rich bastards are getting richer. The argument is that an economy in which the majority are impoverished is never “doing well”, regardless of how much wealth is accumulated by the rich.

.

[1] Except possibly Trump.
