I haven’t read this; I’d be interested in hearing from anyone who has.

Bannon wanted Prince to take over Afghanistan and for the Saudis to go into Iran with merc support without US forces. Bannon is on the side pressuring NK to the edge because he wants China to be forced to act in US interest - in this case to prevent NK from fucking up China’s own interests.

i don’t think guns are any more likely to be withdrawn from the market now than they have been for the past 35 years or so.

i’ve said before over at that other bbs that i’m a leftist favoring gun control who also owns a rifle, a shotgun, and a handgun. i’m also a decent shot with all three. this comes from a rural childhood in texas and slowly seeing the definition of “plinking” expand from bb guns to .22 rifles, to .357 magnums as i progressed from 9 years old to about 25. i don’t see anything inherently wrong with guns any more than i see anything inherently wrong with cars but in the wrong hands they are dangerous.

Not officially, no. The Second Amendment will remain as a cherished part of the American Constitution.

But buying a gun from a legal source is going to become increasingly dangerous for anyone who doesn’t appear to be a Trumpist.

They’ll keep selling guns to “loyal” Americans, but Something Must Be Done about those antifa/BLM/RR/DSA/ICP “terrorists” who are here to threaten Our Great Way of Life.

I am deadly serious; if you don’t get this turned around ASAP, it’s headed for full boxcars-and-ovens territory. The Nazis aren’t just in the streets. They’re in the police, the military [1] and the White House.

I agree with you on that, BTW.

As I’ve said at the other place: guns are tools. Serious, dangerous tools.

.

[1] Although by no means universal. What, if anything, the military is going to do is still an open question.

I’m more than happy to hear alternate opinions on any of the stuff I post, BTW.

Internal West Wing politics are hard to decipher because there is very little information available, and what is available is often not to be taken at face value.

Foreign policy is both more and less difficult than that. There is more information available, but it’s equally unreliable.

It’s strongly influenced by the hard-to-read internal West Wing stuff. And the generally slower time scale (relative to domestic politics) provides a lot more room for intervening events to disrupt predictions. It’s a lot easier to predict general tendencies rather than specific events.

I tend to be fairly comfortable in my predictions on general domestic US politics, but much less confident of my analysis of the West Wing internals. OTOH, I’m aware that everyone is working blind on that subject, so I tend to be cautious with other folk’s analysis as well.

Internationally, I think I’m safe in the assumption that US aggression is coming, and I think Iran is the likely starting point, probably with the Saudis going in first.

But I wouldn’t be shocked if I were surprised, if you get what I mean.

The Baltic theatre may also be important:

The Democrats are an ex-party; they just don’t realise it yet. There is no chance at all that the real left will ever support them again.

Apparently, the story on this one was:

  • Nazis declare that they’ll block the bridge, hope left turns up to counter protest.
  • The Nazis never had any intention of showing up. The idea was to get the left to block traffic and get blamed for it.
  • The left didn’t fall for it. No-one showed up from either side.

It’s kinda notable that most of the late-night political comedy shows are off the air.

Have they shut down to avoid inflaming the situation, or do they just have no idea what to do?

August is “summer vacation” in the northern hemisphere.

BTW: y’all may or may not have noticed, but the American revolution is already happening. It began quite some time ago, when the fascists launched their takeover.

The question now isn’t if or when it’s going to happen. The question is who is going to win.

The fascists have 1/3 of the people, control of the state and the freedom of action that comes with a complete lack of ethics. The left has 1/2 of the people, brains and truth.

The centre-right has the remaining 1/6 of the people, and more money than the left. But the right is working hard and so far successfully at keeping them immobile or on side.

Fucking hell.

This is sufficiently tone-deaf that I’d be willing to believe that someone hacked HRC’s account and posted this to make her look bad.

Unfortunately, it’s also tone-deaf enough for it to be to be perfectly in character for Clinton to have actually done this.

I still can’t believe there are people that have not heard the birth rate genocide theories before.
