Incidentally:
The first protest I ever went to was a counter-protest. A collection of homophobic fundamentalists decided to march through the city to “reclaim” it. So, we came out to counter them; they had a few hundred people, we had about twice their numbers.
As usual, they had cop bodyguards so we couldn’t stop the march entirely. So we marched behind and in front of them, pausing and slowing as often as possible. It ended up being basically a gay rights parade with a clump of cranky bigots stuck in the middle of it.

The Democratic Party has vastly greater resources than the DSA. They could be doing this if they wanted to.
