This happens a good bit, inside hires. They still are legally obligated to go through the process, but this is very common.

I know this happened with a position I applied for back when I was still innocent of corporate ways.

I was the “preferred candidate” and didn’t even realize I would have to “apply and interview” for the position.

When I did find out I had an “interview” I was completely unprepared and blew it. I wouldn’t have hired me.

Then a month later I get a new title and pay grade.

Not sure who else was interviewed, but I’m sorry their time was wasted.

Remember the mass liberal freakout over using tear gas at the border a few weeks ago?

Trump is the symptom, not the disease. This has been building for a long time.

That said: Russia was quite likely responsible for the Podesta hack (the only part of Russiagate that had a significant impact on the election), and the Trump campaign certainly coordinated the release of that material with Wikileaks.

And, of course, Trump is corrupt as fuck, and his corrupt business dealings involve properties in Russia (as well as many other countries) and ties to a wide assortment of Russian gangsters (and Turkish gangsters, and Ukrainian gangsters, and Israeli gangsters, and Filipino gangsters, and…).
