That doesn’t make sense. That doesn’t make any sense. If you support anti-immigrant and anti-refugee politicians, why the fuck would you want to be a fake Goth?
Because the typical (read: ignorant) modern perception of “Goth” is someone who wears a lot of black to represent their nihilistic view of the world, not the reality of the modern Gothic subculture that that misconception is based upon, and certainly nothing to do with the historical tribe from which the subculture took its name.
If you think of “Goth” to mean “I wear black and I’m gloomy,” it’s totally compatible with chauvinistic isolationism.
