It’s not like they stopped sending weapons, or protested or… anything, even token gestures.
Surelly the immigration crisis is the tragedy of our times.
It is… but so are the wars that we’re generally ignoring… that of course, contributes to the refugee crisis… we are in a polycrisis moment, for sure…
Anyone, that picture is picture of the year… just that little baby surrounded by people on a little boat, naked. How anyone can see that and not understand what is happening in our world and how we all need to pull together to end this misery is beyond me. But I guess some people would see those people on that boat, and not see fellow humans, but some kind of threat…
That picture is basically like a renaissance painting
Now if we could just get a good photo of a frozen to death Palestinian baby (which is happening because families are wintering in tents).
Who am I kidding. Nothing about misery inflicted on people elsewhere gets through to Western people anymore.
Yeah… there is a reason why the IDF won’t let journalists in and are targeting the ones that are there… They can’t take the risk that we’ll care about this ongoing genocide.

Bono is a disingenuous, hypocritical, greedy, narcissistic shithead
Fact, tho… Harsh facts.
That was an excellent article.
I knew Bono suffered from “White-Man-Saviour” Syndrome, the insufferable dick, but it’s the first I’ve read of all his tax-dodging shenanigans. Arse.
The field is narrowing for candidates to fill Trudeau’s role as Liberal Party leader; the front runners (to no one’s surprise) are Mark Carney and Chrystia Freeland.
Carney is an unknown, politically, since he’s never had a political office, and do we want that lack of experience at this point? On the other hand, he would be strong on the economic issues, and is not tainted by proximity to Trudeau.
Freeland gets Trumps goat, which is a plus; she could take him on and she is an experienced politician at the highest levels, but is she too closely tied to Trudeau in spite of their public split? And is it time for a woman to lead the Liberals or not?
