So the Sjem will continue to be paralysed by the veto, and the only beneficiary will be a hostile foreign power that’s looking to carve up the country.

History is doing that rhyming thing again:

It’s doing so in the results map as well.

Spot the Pre-WW1 Russian/German border.

You’ll have to factor in that it’s not just Poland’s borders that were moved westward post WW II, but also people. A lot of people, whether they wanted or not.
Not the best map to illustrate this, but it’ll have to do for now:

Ukraine’s unprecedented drone strikes on Russian air force bases weaken Moscow’s ability to wage war on its smaller neighbor and undermine its capacity to threaten more distant rivals such as the U.S. and China—a shift with potentially far-reaching geostrategic implications.

The coordinated attacks Sunday by Ukrainian drones on Russian airfields housing strategic Tupolev bombers damaged or destroyed a sizable portion of the warplane fleet Moscow uses to launch guided-missile attacks on Ukraine. They are also the planes Russia would rely on to strike adversaries in the event of a nuclear war.

Russia no longer produces the decades-old Tupolev planes, meaning it has lost a cornerstone of its ability to project military power beyond its borders.

  • Putin is going to have a fit and strike at others. Both internally and internationally. Watch yourself around windows, boys.

The sheer chutzpah on this operation is impressive. From this article that i read

https://www.yahoo.com/news/operation-spiderweb-ukraine-destroyed-over-210142553.html

the ‘office’ of our operation on Russian territory was located right next to the FSB (Federal Security Service) of Russia, in one of their regions,”

If this isn’t a resounding “Fuck you” to Russia then i don’t know what is.

Look- it is possible to walk back from an authoritarian idiot trying to grab the reins of power- but only if people work to make Democracy function.
